 A miscarriage can be an emotionally devastating experience for a couple.  Early pregnancy loss is one of the most common complications during pregnancy and is estimated to occur in roughly 75% of all women trying to conceive.  An early pregnancy loss may not always indicate that there are imbalances or abnormalities.

Fertility refers not only to the ability to conceive but also includes the ability to carry a pregnancy to full-term.  Although the main initial focus of fertility treatment is on the initial goal of getting pregnant, the main goal is carrying a healthy baby to full-term.

There are many factors that can play a roll in a healthy pregnancy.  The quality of the embryo plays a large role in determining the development & progression of the rest of the pregnancy. The quality of the embryo is directly related to the sperm and egg that fused to form it, and the quality of the sperm and egg gamate depend on the men and women that make them.
