Research update - Acupuncture improves pregnancy rates
Dr Lee Hullender Rubin and Dr Michael Opsahl, of Northwest Center for Reproductive Sciences, recently reviewed the pregnancy rates of patients who underwent embryo transfers at NCRS from 2005-2008. Patients who received acupuncture on the day of embryo transfer had higher ongoing pregnancy rates than those who did not. Acupuncture significantly increased the odds of pregnancy up to 2.23 times in fresh, non-donor IVF patients. Acupuncture also improved donor IVF pregnancy rates. Read more about it here or contact us for more information.

In the Press
Dr Hullender Rubin has published a case study on the painful sexual dysfunction disorder called Vaginismus in the Fall 2009 issue of American Acupuncturist. Vaginismus is an involuntary spasm and contraction of the vaginal muscles, making intercourse difficult, painful and in extreme situations, impossible. This syndrome can further complicate other existing fertility issues. Chinese medicine can provide relief for this condition. Please feel free to contact us with any questions about this or other female sexual dysfunction disroders and how Chinese medicine can address it.
